Throughout the years, I’ve crafted what I believe to be some impressive Halloween decorating initiatives. What I find frustrating is that a number of these earlier articles often become overlooked, never to be revived once more. Thus, today I am altering that and presenting a selection of my preferred eerie and unsettling Halloween pieces from the blog!
My All Hallow’s Eve entry from 2012 revolves around indulging in a candlelit soak. It marked my inaugural blog entry about the haunting occasion. I had just acquired a “grown-up” camera and was playing with light and shadow imagery.
In 2013, I adorned a corner of the kitchen, even going as far as to haul in a stack of hay. That was when I had a passion for creating banners and garlands – such as the crumpled book page garland.
The following year, I highlighted a Halloween table arrangement utilizing vibrant habanero chili peppers that my husband cultivated in the garden.
When I demonstrated how to create vintage-styled Halloween treat bags, I played around with a completely black backdrop. All I did was affix a sheet of black wrapping paper to the wall and allow it to cascade over the table.

Two years ago, I fully embraced the season and decorated the interior of the house for Halloween. I must confess, it was a tremendous amount of enjoyment! The skeletons are still in my possession, but they’ll be moved outside this year.
Last year, I incorporated black houses into my Halloween mantel along with some charming ghost lights. I ultimately gifted those decorations to my daughters. They are always thrilled when I acquire new seasonal decor since it signifies they receive the hand-me-downs from the last season.
My all-time favorite Halloween decorating venture took place five years ago when I fashioned starched cheesecloth ghosts that I had spotted in Country Living magazine. I’ll be crafting a few more of these this year for the front porch!
