DIY Wood Bead Valentine Wreaths

Searching for simple methods to adorn your space for Valentine’s Day? These DIY Wooden Bead Valentine Wreaths transform dollar store supplies into 3 charming wreaths.

I used to embellish for every celebration and season when our children were younger. We would craft small projects and items for each holiday and season too. I truly miss those times. Now that the kids have grown, I don’t engage much in the lesser celebrations. However, I often find myself wanting to craft or feeling inspired to create for some of the smaller holidays. These wooden bead wreaths are straightforward to assemble, and I appreciate that they offer a more understated decoration for the Valentine occasion.

Instructions To Craft These DIY Wooden Bead Valentine Wreaths

  • The initial task was to detach the three heart shapes from the single structure.
  • I accomplished this using wire cutters.

  • Next, I needed to pinch some of the leftover cross-wire segments down so that the wooden beads would fit onto the heart wire structure.

  • Then, it was time to sever the heart shapes so I could attach the beads to the wire heart.

  • Once the wire was severed, I began attaching the wooden beads to the heart structure.

Cost-Saving Tip: Always look for wooden beads in thrift stores and yard sales. I grab them whenever I spot them. Another opportune time to purchase is after Christmas. Certain stores stock wooden bead garlands during the festive season. If you’re browsing for holiday clearance, keep an eye out for these garlands. You can extract all the beads from the garlands and repurpose them for various projects like this one.

string beads

  • After I arranged all the beads around the form, it was time to reassemble the form.

  • To achieve this, I first joined the wires back together where I cut them and used some strong tape to secure them in place.

  • Then, I applied floral wire over the tape to firmly bind the pieces together. You can also employ hot glue at this juncture if that aids in securing them.

bow

  • Finally, I crafted a bow using a wired ribbon.

  • The bow was affixed to the base of each wreath using hot glue.

  • I did trim the hearts in different locations. After completing these three wreaths, I discovered that cutting at the bottom was the most effective.

I documented this entire craft as I was doing it in my YouTube video linked below.
