I am elated to participate in this Valentine’s Day Blog Hop! Welcome to the 2016 Valentine’s Day Blog Hop! Danielle from Creatively Homespun has united 20 bloggers to craft extraordinary items for Valentine’s Day! I felt compelled to share these simple homemade chocolate valentines for this event.
At times, it can be challenging for me to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit. While I don’t engage in extensive decorating for it, I do adore making valentines and introducing small elements of the holiday into our home. After this hop, I have felt motivated to celebrate Valentine’s Day similar to other festivities.
During my childhood, Valentine’s Day was among my treasured days at school. I enjoyed crafting valentines for my peers, but what I truly cherished was sifting through the shoebox I adorned filled with valentines from my friends. Now that my children are maturing, they partake in brainstorming valentine ideas with me.
This concept originated around Christmas. I posted a photo on Instagram and Facebook showcasing the hot cocoa gifts my daughter was giving to her classmates for Christmas. The feedback was wonderful, and numerous individuals inquired about my methods for making them. Since I didn’t have the opportunity to write a post about them during Christmas, I decided to prepare a batch for Valentine’s Day.

We are referring to these as “Cupid’s Remedy To Warm Your Heart” Valentines.

Materials & Ingredients For These Homemade Valentines:
Milk chocolate chips
Miniature valentine cupcake liners
Valentine sprinkles
Paper straws (You will cut these in half, yielding two from one straw.)
Valentine treat bags
Mini burlap sacks(These are optional. I had some on hand and incorporated them at the end.)
Baker’s twine
Free printable
Scissors
Hole punch
(I didn’t specify exact quantities of the materials since that varies depending on how many valentines you intend to create.)
Instructions to create “Cupid’s Remedy To Warm Your Heart” Valentine:

As I embark on a craft or project like this, I prefer to complete the preliminary tasks first. Thus, print the valentine tags initially. Cut them out and employ a hole punch to create a hole at the top of each heart. Following this, halve all the valentine straws. This way, when you are ready to assemble everything, all is prepared.
Now, let’s proceed to the “Cupid’s Remedy” section.
You need to melt your milk chocolate chips so it can be simply poured or spooned into the mini cupcake liners. I typically do this in the microwave, but a double boiler on the stove can work too. To melt it in the microwave, I combine the chocolate chips with approximately a tablespoon of vegetable oil before microwaving. Then, I heat it in 45-second increments. After each period, I remove it and stir thoroughly. Take care to avoid burning the chocolate.

Once the chocolate is fully melted, pour it into the mini cupcake liners. I fill them about three-quarters full.

Once all are poured, I insert one half of a valentine straw in the center and sprinkle the valentine sprinkles on top.

I allow them to rest for at least a few hours or even overnight. Ensure they are completely set before placing them in the bags.
Once they are firm, it’s time to assemble the valentine.

Initially, place them in a valentine treat bag and secure it with baker’s twine or the closure that accompanies the bags.

Next, I placed the valentine treat bag inside a crimson burlap pouch. (Again, you can omit this step. I had sufficient of these available, so I opted to use them). I attached the tag to the strings on the burlap sacks. If burlap bags are not utilized, use the baker’s twine to attach the tag on the exterior of the valentine treat bag.

A dash of hot milk and a swirl of this valentine will have the children relishing “Cupid’s Cure”. 🙂

These valentines are so adorable and enjoyable to create. My daughter adored distributing them during Christmas. We will be sharing these with our family, neighbors, and friends on Valentine’s Day.
Does your school organize a Valentine’s Party for the kids? What are they distributing this year?
