DIY Spring Decorations For The Family Room

DIY Spring Ornaments are effortless to make with a few, uncomplicated materials.

Are you prepared for spring embellishments?

No?

Alright, honestly, neither am I, but I had a couple of second-hand shop finds that I shifted around the home until I could transform them. Once we began the makeover in the family room, I really had to do something with them since they were driving me up the wall!!

Clutter and I are not on good terms, and when I’m just relocating items, it gets to my OCD and typically I will simply discard them. I realized these two pieces could turn out quite charming, so I needed to sit down and give them their makeover already.

Hanging baskets are one of my beloved items. The orange hue on this one needed to be replaced. I’ve also been shifting the wooden stand throughout our home. The issue was that I wasn’t fond of the dark wood tone. Thus, I was never satisfied with its placement. Then, as I was clearing all the items from the shelves in our family room to paint, a bright idea struck. I had a large glass cloche on the shelves. It would sit atop the wooden stand splendidly.

It was as if they were destined to be together. I adore when that occurs. Once I realized that fit, these spring embellishments fell into place effortlessly.

I selected “Emmie’s Room” paint shade from Magnolia Home Paint along with myZibra Triangle Paint Brushto convert these second-hand items into charming spring decorations for our family room.

Zibra Paint Brusheshave revolutionized my painting experience. The Triangle Paint Brush is ideal for accessing the crevices of the wicker basket. I had both pieces painted in under half an hour. If you paint furniture or other items and haven’t tested Zibra brushes yet, shame on you. HAHA! Just joking. But truthfully, you must give them a shot. You will thank me afterward.

After applying a few coats on the wooden stand, I distressed the edges using sandpaper. I applied only one coat of paint on the basket because I still wanted to have some of the wicker showing through.
