This revamped autumn sign is among my top autumn projects this year. It is essential to remind ourselves to maintain grateful hearts and appreciate all the gifts in our lives. This season always resonates with me. The holiday season (and autumn) signifies numerous things to various individuals, but gratitude has to be my favorite. I hope my children ponder it, and we turn it into a family “activity” every year during this period.
This “Give Thanks” Pumpkin initially began as a damaged trellis we had in the backyard.

I have never been fond of it in the yard since it was damaged and we never planted anything to climb on it.
However, I LOVE the green hue on it and the aged patina is just perfect.
It proved to be the ideal item to transform into something new.
I disassembled the trellis and arranged the segments on a table in the garage. I crafted a pumpkin shape from paper and traced it onto the trellis segments.

My husband sawed the wood and affixed some of the remnants on the back to secure it.

He also installed a hinge so it could stand on a table.

I utilized the LaPatessiere Alpha StencilMask and the Greetings Words Stencil Mask to create the “Give Thanks” phrase on the front.

I outlined the letters with a pencil and used a white paint marker to complete them.

Doesn’t the trellis appear significantly better as a pumpkin? 🙂
The charm of the trellis wood truly shines through now.
