Prepare to cozy up as you explore this delightful countryside estate by Great Rooms Building Group. While the residence is spacious, it conveys a sense of warmth and comfort within due to the incorporation of wooden and stone elements. To my astonishment, I discovered that this scenic hideaway is situated not far from my home on the fringes of the Chicago suburbs. The neighborhood enjoys all the amenities of a town, while still offering plenty of lush greenery.

A stone central fireplace rises to meet the vaulted, rustic wooden ceiling. Blue velvet accent chairs add a delightful splash of color while the large cow ornament observes the happenings in the space. Rustic cabinetry on either side of the fireplace offers storage for blankets, board games, and other essentials.

Doesn’t this seem like the ideal dining room for a Thanksgiving meal? You can savor a stunning vista of the outside while seated around the table. Black Windsor chairs are an ageless classic, and the upholstered end chairs add a hint of softness. Complete it all with a large rooster as the centerpiece, and you’re ready to go. Not to forget – the lovely hardwood floors!

The kitchen is equally as stunning as the rest of the residence, featuring a lovely hue for the cabinets, rustic wooden ceiling beams, and a stone enclosure around the stove. Textured brick flooring contrasts beautifully with the wooden kitchen island and the green cabinetry.

Much like the dining and family areas, the kitchen boasts a wall of windows providing views of the countryside. I appreciate that a black fridge and dishwasher were selected instead of stainless steel, as they complement the countertops.

I chuckled when I noticed the stacked farm animals in the corner next to the stove. I used to own one of those and blogged about decorating with farmhouse animals. It’s a perfect fit for this charming country estate kitchen.

The family relishes an outdoor kitchen on their rural land. I think I need to meet these folks and receive an invitation to a gathering. The residence and its surroundings are simply stunning. The little red pig adds a lovely detail. I wonder what has caught his attention.
