Book Page Bunnies: Adorable Upcycled Easter Decor

Whether you’re enhancing your spring ambiance or crafting heartfelt personalized gifts, this endeavor is simple, enjoyable, and utterly enchanting. Additionally, who doesn’t appreciate a project that’s both adorable and environmentally friendly?

Materials Required for Book Page Bunnies:

• Old book pages (or any other sturdy paper)
• Half Bunny template (draw your own or print one)
• Scissors
• Glue sticks
• Decorations (optional) – Cotton balls or pom-poms (for the tail), twine or ribbon for a bow, etc.

Instructions to Craft These Bunnies:

Step 1: Create Your Bunny Template

Begin by crafting the bunny stencil for the book pages. Sketch a basic “half bunny” silhouette onto cardstock or sturdy paper. Your template must fit on the book pages when they are folded in half, ensuring the bottom edge is straight. Refer to the photos. Cut out the template once it’s drawn.

NOTE: You can create bunnies of various sizes.

Step 2: Trace The Bunny Template Onto Book Pages

Take 25-30 book pages and fold each one in half lengthwise, ensuring a sharp crease down the middle. Using the bunny template you created, trace the shape onto your book pages with the straight edge aligned with the folded side. Cut them out while keeping them folded.

Step 3: Adhere Your Pages Together

Using a glue stick, apply adhesive along the folded edge of each cut-out bunny shape and stack them, making sure the folds align. This will create a layered, three-dimensional appearance. (Refer to the video below for a complete step-by-step tutorial!)

Step 4: Attach The Final Piece

Once all the pages are glued together, apply glue all over the last one and open it to attach to the opposite side (again, the video below demonstrates this in real-time).

Step 5: Add Bunny Ears

Cut bunny ears from the leftover book page scraps and glue them to the back of the bunny.

Step 6: Incorporate Embellishments

Attach a pom-pom tail, add a bow, or any other decorations you desire.
