Joyful Wednesday pals! It’s the second week of the One Room Challenge, and I’m thrilled to present the advancements I have accomplished so far. One of the wonderful aspects of rejuvenating a bedroom is that there aren’t typically significant renovations involved. The largest DIY endeavor on my agenda was to apply paint to the walls! Simultaneously, painting was no minor task given the dimensions of this space, along with all the considerations taken in selecting the finest white paint for a bedroom. I opted for a neutral and inviting white paint shade that appears appealing during the day or night, and it even covers in a single coat!

The Finest White Paint for a Bedroom
Up until about a year ago, I had not painted a room. My lovely mom came to see me, shared all her advice, and assisted me in painting my bathrooms. Since that time, I’ve gradually been painting all the walls in our residence. Personally, I adore the clean and minimalist appearance of white walls. They provide a flawless blank slate for any area!
Anyone can attest that choosing a paint hue significantly relies on your room. The illumination, the area size, the direction the room is oriented… there are numerous elements! However, I believe I’ve encountered a fantastic white for bedrooms. I have utilized Cameo White from Behr’s Marquee line in two sleeping quarters on different ends of our home, and I adore it! It presents as a creamy white with (very subtle) red undertones that feels inviting in low light, yet maintains a bright and fresh appearance in daylight.
The greatest aspect of this paint is that it conceals in just one coat! This makes a significant impact when you have a spacious room to address. Personally, I enjoy painting–I listen to audiobooks (often Harry Potter! Any fellow Hufflepuffs here?) or simply relish the peace and quiet after my little ones go to sleep. Still, I would prefer to only apply one coat, making the Marquee line my favorite.
Additional Bedroom Revamp Plans
Aside from our newly painted white walls, the only other alteration you observe here are the curtains. I took down the inexpensive roller shades we previously had on the windows and installed these linen-style curtains using my favorite IKEA rods. I still need to acquire finials for the window on the right!
