It is finally beginning to feel like spring. Here in Iowa, we transition from winter to spring and back again during March and occasionally April, but I believe we have passed that peak and are heading straight into spring now. There shouldn’t be any more snow sneaking in until next winter. Today, I wanted to reveal how secondhand decor introduces spring accents to the living room in our residence. I frequently showcase my discoveries and take you into the thrift stores with me on my Instagram account, so I thought I would demonstrate how I combined those acquired items to invite spring into our home this year.

I collect white pitchers whenever I come across them. Not only are they excellent for spring, but they are versatile enough for use all year. I am becoming more selective about the ones I acquire now, but a good white pitcher (in any tone of white) is definitely something I will always seize. I gathered three of my small pitchers and arranged them atop the wooden item that I recently discovered and showcased in my video HERE. This wooden piece was a sign with a picture decoupaged on one side.
I truly adored the rustic wood it was fashioned from and knew I would utilize it more like a tray. I removed the wire hanger from the back and positioned it upside down in the hutch. It became the perfect base for the pitchers. The combination of the rustic wood and the refined, white pitchers together delights me. I inserted some artificial Baby’s Breath flowers inside the pitchers to truly emphasize spring.

Save Money Decorating With Thrifted Treasures
I ADORE wooden vases, but they can be quite pricey in stores. Now and then, you can discover them in thrift shops. I have gathered three so far. The one on the left was an estate sale treasure. The gentleman used to create them. Again, I placed the fake stems inside and positioned them atop a secondhand, vintage scale. It serves as the perfect riser!

It didn’t require much to make the hutch appear spring-like. I found all of the items inside (aside from the wooden calendar, small pots, and fake stems) at a thrift shop, yard sale, or estate sale.

Incorporate Nests Into Your Spring Decor
Nests are always delightful to include in your decor for spring. I used to have them scattered everywhere, but have recently discarded many of them. I retained this one because of its size. It created the perfect nest for some letter tiles and another white pitcher filled with small candles.

I have a fondness for old scales, and the color of this one exclaims SPRING! I obtained the pots from Hobby Lobby years ago. They were incredibly affordable with the coupon and they appear authentic and vintage. Pots are a splendid addition to spring decor. You can fill them with numerous items or lay them down as I have done here with something spilling out of them.

Refreshing your decor for a new season doesn’t have to be costly or time-consuming. I shop my home prior to changing anything for a new season. When I place something in a new location in our home, it feels renewed and doesn’t cost me a thing. Before acquiring anything new for a new season or holiday, look around and see what you already possess. A little adjustment, relocation, or change in styling can make a remarkable difference.

I couldn’t leave the top of the hutch unadorned.

This is the most filled it has ever been, and I adore it immensely. More secondhand items united to create a cohesive appearance.
Here is a time-lapse video of me assembling the hutch:

***ORGANIZATION TIP AS YOU DECORATE WITH THRIFTED DECOR TO ADD SPRING TOUCHES***
I would like to insert this little tip here because it has been beneficial for me throughout the years. I adore changing the decor in our home, and I consistently do it on a budget. With that in mind, I continually purge items when redecorating. I don’t retain anything I am not enamored with or utilizing anymore. I dislike a lot of clutter and definitely don’t enjoy storing things I am not using.
As you redecorate for a new season or holiday, discard the items you don’t cherish while you’re rearranging. Sell them and earn some funds for new acquisitions or simply donate them. Having a beautiful home is largely about avoiding overcrowding your spaces and having a multitude of items everywhere. Purge as you decorate. It will reduce excess and make your home and YOU feel lighter and brighter. Take my word for it!
