Now that the festive season has passed, I am shifting to uncomplicated winter aesthetics. One of my preferred methods to infuse warmth into our home during this time of the year is through snug bedding and numerous layers! I had the chance to collaborate with one of my favorite brands, Serena and Lily, to provide our guest room with a New Year’s update. Our guest space is prepared for the chilly months with a plaid flannel duvet cover and earthy linen accents. I’m thrilled to share the items I selected, along with a before and after visual of the bedroom.

Snug Bedding in the Guest Room

One of my aims in revitalizing our guest room for the new year was to experiment with earthy shades. Previously, I adorned this area with a laid-back, California style. I still cherish it greatly, yet desired to explore a distinct color scheme and additional layers. Soft brown, natural linen, and creamy off-white are ideal for the winter season.

It is remarkable how different this space seems now. The carpet beneath the bed incorporates both warm and cool hues, allowing for an easy transition from bright whites and grays to creams and browns. The plaid duvet provides a timeless winter accent!
Bedding Revitalization with Serena and Lily

Here are the Serena and Lily items I utilized to achieve this look!
- Alpine Flannel Duvet Cover in Doe/White: Replacing the white duvet cover with plaid flannel immediately introduced a warm winter aesthetic to the guest room. This duvet cover is 100% cotton and incredibly soft! We have been enjoying Serena and Lily’s bedding in our main bedroom for quite some time now and I am impressed with both its design and quality. Here is my bedding review!
- Mendocino Pillow Covers in Mink: I was captivated by the earthy hue of these pillows as soon as I spotted them. They are crafted from linen and will easily transition to spring and summer.
- Ridgeline Pillow Covers in Chalk/Mink: I opted to try a new pillow arrangement this time and placed two of these lovely lumbar pillows in front of the 24″ squares. The solid cream color breaks up the earthy shades. I adore the exquisite braided detail around the seams and the oversized tassels.
- Down Pillow Inserts: Serena and Lily’s down inserts are of superior quality! I’ve noticed that they fill my pillow covers better than others, appear extra fluffy, and do not shed feathers.
- Topanga Linen Throw in Ivory: I have been gradually collecting items from the Topanga collection, as the linen and tassel combination is simply stunning. Check out my review of the Topanga pillow! The throw is made of the same fabric with coordinating tassels.

Thank you immensely to Serena and Lily for sponsoring this post! We cherish this refreshed space and are eager to welcome our family shortly. Now tell me, what is your preferred method to warm up your space for the cooler months? I would love to know in the comments! XO,
