Hello once more, pals! Since I recently posted an image of my homemade wooden bead garland in our seaside farmhouse dining area, here’s a brief guide. There are numerous ways you can adorn bead garlands throughout your residence, and crafting your own is affordable and straightforward! These are ideal for coastal, contemporary, or bohemian aesthetics.
This is so simple that a young child could manage it, and actually, Bug enjoyed assisting me with this endeavor. His tiny fingers were just adept enough to slide the beads onto the string, and now he adores gazing at the garland and counting the beads. The way he articulates “One, tyouuu, threeee…” just warms my heart these days! But regardless, let’s move on to the tutorial!

Materials Required (This Is So Simple!)
DIY Wooden Bead Garland Instructions
- Thread the beads directly onto the spool of twine (without severing it).
- After adding all of your beads, cut the twine, leaving a few extra inches at both ends.
- Tie knots at the ends of your twine. I made a few basic knots stacked atop each other to stop the beads from slipping off. For a longer garland suitable for a mantel or Christmas tree, create loops at the ends for suspension.
- Trim the twine ends, and you’re all set!
Using all thirty of the 20mm beads, my garland ended up being approximately 23 inches long. Bead garlands appear beautiful draped over books, coiled around a vase, or styled on a tray. I appreciate the minimalist appearance of this natural wood bead garland, but you could also paint your beads, or add tassels or charms for embellishment.

And that’s all, my friends! I hope you found this straightforward decor guide enjoyable, and please let me know if you give it a try!
