Thanksgiving Tablescape: Nature Inspired Table Decor

Happy Thanksgiving! Okay, I’m leaping a bit forward. I’m just thrilled to present my Nature Inspired Thanksgiving Tablescape with you. Not only am I showcasing my tablescape, but I have collaborated with some of my blogging pals who are also displaying their Thanksgiving Tablescapes. This tour will have you prepared for Thanksgiving in no time.(The complete list of tablescapes is located at the end of this article).

When I began conceptualizing this Thanksgiving Tablescape, I surveyed what I already had available (just as I do for every occasion, gathering, or project). Upon realizing the abundance of “natural” elements around, I opted to center my tablescape on that theme.

I commenced with the centerpiece.

I acquired the container at a yard sale this summer for $1, and the yellow blooms and small pears you see are indeed a wreath I discovered at another yard sale for $1. I ‘squished’ the wreath down into the container to serve as a base for the additional items I wanted to incorporate.

The acorns are part of autumn decorations I collected at yet another yard sale for 10¢ each.

No joke. This is how I shop yard sales. If I spot something I know I can utilize, I grab it. I don’t spend much, I consistently have items on hand when needed, and I’ve never purchased anything that hasn’t been used at some point. I picked the gourds at a nearby pumpkin patch.

For each place setting at this table, I utilized more of the autumn foliage pieces to wrap the napkins. Then, I inscribed each guest’s name on a piece of driftwood I had leftover from myDIY Driftwood Heart Wreath.

I also included small Indian corn I picked up at the pumpkin patch for several of the place settings.

White dishes enhance everything else on the table.

(Shhhhh. Don’t let anyone know, but all these white dishes were from The Dollar Tree!!!)

The table runner is, in fact, a full-size tablecloth that I folded to fit the center of the table. It was a clearance discovery at Target. It possesses perfect colors for a Thanksgiving Tablescape and complements my natural theme beautifully.

My sister is also married to a “Matt,” so I have two places set for Matt.

My children believed I should have created one that said “Dad” for our Matt. As long as we each precede Matt with “my,” “our,” or “yours,” we all know whom we are referring to. 🙂

One of my favorite aspects of this Thanksgiving Tablescape is that each guest receives their own fall presentation when they sit down. No two are identical.

A little tip I wanted to share regarding this tablescape is something I practice every time I prepare for a large dinner/party. Once I have the meal organized and know what I’ll be serving, I set the table the night prior and lay out the serving dishes I will need for each item on the buffet. This way, I stay organized on the day of the event, and I know exactly where everything will be placed.
