Our back porch has been receiving some essential renovations. It all commenced when we installed the mini-split on the porch. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is or missed my video where I enthusiastically discussed it, check out my post HERE. I am truly captivated by the advantages of the mini-split, and we can hardly believe we delayed adding one for so long. Once the mini-split was complete, I felt inspired to modify a few elements of the porch.
Today, I am presenting the retro rug from Boutique Rugs that transformed the porch beautifully.

I selected THIS RUG for our back porch. It is a washable rug. The hues are perfect. This rug complements both warm and cool-toned decor seamlessly. I appreciate such flexibility since I often change my mind. This rug will easily accommodate that.
This Holi rug belongs to their vintage collection.
It’s crafted to resemble a vintage rug, and they executed it effectively. It displays a faded appearance in some regions and is not plush at all. They designed it to mimic exactly what one would anticipate from a genuine vintage rug. Moreover, the best aspect is that you won’t have to stress about it being excessively worn or having any tears or holes, which some authentic vintage rugs might feature.
I should mention that the images on the Boutique Rugs website don’t quite do it justice. I hope that these photos in this post provide a better depiction of the rug’s colors. It consists of creams, browns, grays, blues, greens, pinks, and a hint of yellow. It may sound like a lot, but the faded effect and color combination complement each other remarkably well.
The rug features a very slight fringed/frayed edge on both sides.
I opted for the 6’7″ x 9′ size. As mentioned earlier, it doesn’t have a shaggy carpet pile whatsoever. It’s flatter, which I adore for this area. I require something that is simple to clean. Speaking of cleaning… this rug is machine washable! Many of their rugs are washable, which is another feature I love.
Once I acquired the rug, I painted the wooden piece in “Drop Cloth” and am now searching for a new sofa that will provide us with additional seating on the porch. The mini-split has enabled the porch to be fully utilized throughout the year, so I aim to make it even cozier and more inviting.
